What attracted you to Scrapbooking?I have always been creative and dabbled in many areas before finding scrapbooking. And I guess it is the fact that I can blend all the things I love into creating scrapbooks that has kept me so passionate about it.
How do you create your layouts?
I usually like to draw out a rough sketch of what I would like the layout to look like, although by the time I’m done they rarely resemble my original idea. How do you choose your supplies? Most of my pages are focused on a single photo and I chose things that will suit the picture or help set the mood that I want to create. There are certain colours and styles of products that I’m drawn to, so even when I buy things just because I like the look of them they will usually work with my existing supplies. How often do you scrapbook? When do you do most of your work?I scrap or do something crafty every day – well night really as this is when I get most things done because it’s a lot quieter once my boys have gone to bed ;)
How long does it take you to complete a layout?
I am such a slow scrapper and like to move things around and come back to them before I decide to permanently secure things down - and can take anywhere from 2 hours to 2 days to complete a layout. What technique do you love but are yet to try?
I really like the look of heat embossing and want to get all the tools so I can try it out for myself. How important is journalling to you?
I usually sum my journaling up into just a few words or even with the title but often slip notes into the back of my page protectors for all the things I want to remember. How often do you handwrite on your layout?More now than I use to as I find it saves time, although I do like the clean look of printed text. What inspires and motivates you to create if you get a creative block?I love to blog hop and visit online galleries and challenge sites and spend much of my designated ‘creating time’ online. I also like to go through my ever growing pile of scrapping magazines that I have collected over the years.
Describe your scrap spaceMessy! Which is not a good thing considering I scrap in our dinning room, although I have made an effort and got myself some cool storage from Ikea to try and at least conceal some of the mess. Do you prefer to scrap alone or at a crop? Can you believe I have never been to a crop so I guess I would have to say…. alone. I do plan to go to crop one day but considering that I like to chat I don’t know how productive I would actually be.What advice would you give to new scrapbookers?Don’t be afraid to try new things and just have fun with it. Techniques can be worked on and your style will evolve so don’t be too hard on yourself if things don’t go to plan the first time round. Oh and don’t forget to always have your camera handy, as you never know when a ‘Kodak’ moment is going to happen!Do you have a blog? What do you use your blog for? What do you use your blog for? I use my blog - A Place in My Dreams - to share all my creative projects as well as little snippets of the everyday moments that our family shares.
If you had 3 wishes, what would they be?
